Running

I run.

Lots of people run, so this may not surprise you.

But I run far. Very far.

As of June 2013, I’ve run 6 official road marathons: Harrisburg 2006 (awwwwwwful), San Diego 2007, Philadelphia 2007, Steamtown 2008, Philadelphia 2008, and Baltimore 2009. I quit pounding the pavement, at least at distances greater than 13 miles, and turned to the trails in 2009. Since then I’ve run 7 ultramarathons (defined as any distance beyond 26.2): Blues Cruies 50K 2009,  JFK 50 miles 2009, Halloweeny 2010, Finger Lakes 50K 2011, Oil Creek 100K 2011, Ironmasters Challenge 50K 2012, Oil Creek 100 miles 2012. And while training for the Oil Creek races, I’ve run many more training runs beyond 26.2.

The family joined me for the finish of my first 100 miler.

On the schedule for 2012 are: Hell Hath No Hurry 12-Hour Endurance Challenge, Conococheague 50K and Oil Creek 100K . . . races 8, 9 and 10.

Some say I’m crazy.

Yeah, maybe.
